Point Pleasant is one of the many beach towns along the Jersey Shore that has a rich history behind it. The place witnessed the first oncoming of the Quaker settlers in the mid 1700s. After that, in the 19th century, farmers from all over the town began to rent out their homes to visitors making Point Pleasant one of the Jersey Shore’s oldest resorts. Although Point Pleasant rentals have come a long way since this time, the friendly hospitality remains and everyone looks forward to the vacationers each summer.
Do to the large number of vacationers interested in Point Pleasant summer rentals, the off season and in season prices are drastically different. Although, vacationers typically choose to rent homes for a week, many tourists also choose to book their Point Pleasant rental for entire summer season.
Established in 1886, Point Pleasant hosts a majority of their visitors in the summer months of June, July and August. The Point Pleasant boardwalk, built by Orlo Jenkinson in the 1920s, has a variety of restaurants and attractions for the entire family, including the Jersey Shore’s famous Jenkinson’s Aquarium.
