Manasquan was settled as a part of Shrewsbury in the 1600s. Its name was derived from the Lenape Indians and means “the stream of the Island of Squaws”. Manasquan is a small, quaint town situated in New Jersey. It features a mile-long beach which is known for its picturesque beauty. For many centuries, people have lived in Manasquan year round. The small shore town has a shopping complex and a deep sea fishing facility. It is regarded by many as having one of the most beautiful shores in the entire state of New Jersey.
Most of the small beach town is inhabited by locals who rent out their homes to vacationers at very affordable prices. This is because of the small amount of tourist traffic that Manasquan gets to enjoy each year. Manasquan rentals are generally very homely and have all the little things a person would want to have in their own home. It is because of this warm, welcoming atmosphere that tourist frequent Manasquan in spite of the fact that it doesn’t have most commercial features that the neighbouring towns have.
Most tourists visit Manasquan from June to November when the weather is warmer and summer vacations are well deserved.
